The Comprehensive Plan is broken into 3 categories Source of Supply, Transmission and Distribution, and General and Administrative.

Source of Supply relates to water treatment. Montezuma Water Company has a relatively new plant (1998) with the capacity of 4 mgd.

The water source is McPhee Reservoir that is fed by the Dolores River. MWC has 14 cfs of water rights with 10 cfs stored in Ground Hog Reservoir. MWC also has 3 wells that are used for backup or emergency that are located in Lost Canyon. The WTP located on County Rd T uses the ACTIFLO process for coagulation and sedimentation, multi-media filtration, pre-disinfectant is chlorine dioxide, and post-disinfectant is chlorine gas.

MWC currently serves approximately 3750 members in three counties in Southwest Colorado. MWC has approximately 1,833,327 feet of mainlines ranging from 1.25” to 12”.

Enclosed is a copy of the plan for Source of Supply, Transmission and Distribution, and General and Administrative.
